Mata Ortiz Gallery Mata Ortiz Pottery comes from the small village of Mata Ortiz in the State of Chihuahua, Mexico. Juan Quezada, the founder of the Mata Ortiz pottery movement, rejuvenated the art based on pottery shards left by the ancient Paquimé Indians in the State of Chihuahua, Mexico.
